Host Families
Mainstays of the program are community Host Families, who each welcome a student into their home. Each ABC scholar has one or two host families. Many of the Host Families have high-school aged sons or daughters and also attend Mt Greylock Regional High School. The families voluntarily bring the scholars into their homes on Sunday afternoons, some school vacations, and when they just feel like doing family things together. Families pitch in to take the scholars school shopping, to make runs to local businesses and attend school events. In other words, they make the students feel like they have a “home away from home.”
How could your family become a host family?
